Create a New Layer:

In other words, Open your image in Photoshop.

However, Create a new blank layer by going to Layer > New > Layer or pressing Ctrl + Shift + N (Cmd + Shift + N on Mac).

Select the Gradient Tool:

For instance, Select the Gradient Tool from the toolbar (shortcut G).

Above all, In the top toolbar, click on the gradient thumbnail to open the Gradient Editor.

In addition, Choose the Foreground to Transparent gradient (usually the second option from the left).

How to Add a Sunburst Effect, Draw the Sunburst:

After that, Change the gradient type to Radial Gradient (the circular icon next to the gradient editor).

Similarly,  Set the Foreground Color to a bright yellow or light orange (or a color that resembles sunlight).

Therefore, On the new layer, click and drag from where you want the sunburst to originate, pulling outward to create the radial burst.

Blend the Sunburst:

In other words, Change the layer Blending Mode to Screen or Overlay (found in the Layers panel dropdown).

However, Lower the Opacity if needed to soften the effect.

Add Blur (Optional):

For instance, If you want a more diffused look, go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur and apply a slight blur to the sunburst layer.

In addition, Adjust the Opacity and Blending Mode to blend the effect seamlessly into the photo.

Adding a Solid Background Behind an Existing Image:

Open Your Image:

Therefore, Open the image that you want to work with in Photoshop.

Unlock the Background Layer:

In other words, If your image is locked (usually named “Background” in the Layers panel), click the lock icon next to the layer to unlock it.

Create a New Background Layer:

However, In the Layers panel, click on the New Layer icon or go to Layer > New > Layer and drag the new layer below your image layer in the Layers panel.

Fill the New Layer with a Solid Color:

  1. Select the new layer.
  2. Choose your desired background color by clicking on the Foreground Color box in the toolbar.
  3. With the color selected, go to Edit > Fill or press Shift + F5 and choose Foreground Color in the Fill dialog box.
  4. Click OK to fill the layer with your selected color.

Replacing an Existing Background with a Solid Color,

Select the Subject:

  • For instance, Use a selection tool like the Quick Selection Tool (W) or Magic Wand Tool (W) to select the subject of your image.
  • Above all, Once selected, go to Select > Select and Mask to refine your selection if needed.

Remove the Old Background:

  • In addition, After you have your subject selected, press Ctrl + Shift + I (Cmd + Shift + I on Mac) to invert the selection.
  • After that, Press Delete or Backspace to remove the background, or create a Layer Mask by clicking the mask icon at the bottom of the Layers panel.

Create a New Background Layer:

  • Similarly, Create a new layer by clicking New Layer at the bottom of the Layers panel.
  • Therefore, Drag this new layer below your subject layer.

Fill the Background with a Solid Color:

  • In other words, Follow the same steps to fill the new layer with a solid color, using Edit > Fill or Shift + F5, and choosing Foreground Color.

Refining the Look:

  • However, Adjust the blending and opacity of the layers if needed.
  • For instance, You can apply gradients or textures to the solid background for more creative effects.
